This is your standard mailing list, operating much like a conference call phone line. Its main purpose is to inform people of the doings of Fife Mojo, Inc., based in Williamsburg, Virginia--specifically, when and where the Fife Mojo Jams will take place. When I send an email to the list, everyone gets it. Big surprise. Then, when a subscriber (like you) replies to me via the list, everyone also gets that. This way I can say 'Hey, the Fife Mojo jam is this Saturday.' Someone else can say 'Cool, I'm gonna be there!' and that person's friends, assuming they're also subscribers, will know that person will be there, without everyone in the universe knowing every subscriber's address, and without all of us hitting 'reply all' for every message. For general Fife and Drum conversation, I encourage you all to subscribe to the list maintained by Ken Barlow of the Excelsior Brigade in New York. Go here: http://www.fifedrum.org/fifedrum/ That's the Big List, 'Da List,' the place you want to discuss all things fife and drum. It's a much larger community, for one thing, and much more knowledgeable than any of us alone can be! This list is not meant to compete with Ken's list. It simply saves me a lot of time emailing everyone about the jams. So have fun with it, use it, and let's all play nice in the sandbox. One other thing: If you send an email to the list, it goes to the personal email account of every subscriber to the list. You may not know everyone who is subscribed; in fact you will probably not know. Don't say anything you don't want everyone to know about! Using Jamlist
To post a message to all the list members, send email to jamlist@lists.fifemojo.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Jamlist
Subscribe to Jamlist by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
